Jensen NVX200 3.5" Touch Screen Portable Navigation GPS SystemReviewsThe maps on this unit are from 2004 and 2005. There is no update available for them. Consequently the GPS is constantly showing your position in the middle of a farm field or telling you to drive off a cliff. The Canadian maps are all off by at least 1000 yards, so even when you're on an existing road it doesn't know where you are. The manufacturer has been promising an update since 2007 and it has not and most likely will not ever show up. So unless you have money you want to throw away, don't even think about buying this item. 0 stars! It worked one month then started having problems would not let me put addresses in it without crashing and restarting itself.. Do yourself a favor do not buy this. I've long been a big fan of Garmin GPS systems. I've sold a lot of them in the past, and never had one come back because a customer didn't like it or because it didn't work. I consider them one of the finest GPS makers in the world, and highly recommend their products to anyone that is looking. But when it came to looking for a unit for personal use, I ignored my own advice. I was shopping based on price, which is normally not a great idea since I firmly believe in the "get what you pay for" mentality. But during my search, I came across this unit for just $99.99 (even cheaper here on Amazon!). That's an absurdly low price for a portable GPS, so I started reading. This Jensen is a no-name brand, no frills GPS unit. It does not have Blue teeth, it does not announce street names, it does not have a picture viewer, and it does not (so far as I can tell) have MP3 capability (although it does have an SD card and a headphone jack, so maybe I'm just missing something. In any event, those features are just fluff: the important thing is the GPS. What the Jensen does do is offer everything you expect of a portable GPS. Voice commands (without street names, though), various routing options (avoid highways, avoid toll roads, etc.), automatic route recalculation, etc. One thing I do like that I have not seen elsewhere is the option to turn recalculation off: when I first got it, it was set to ask what to do when I went off route: recalculate, delete route, etc. This is a nice option, since other units I've used chime incessantly informing you you're off route. I like being able to pull off and make a stop without having to fight with the GPS. The GPS also has a night mode, with more subdued colours, so as not to distract the driver. You can even set this to come on automatically based on GPS position and sunrise/sunset times. Very slick (in theory - I haven't yet tested it). It does all the same tricks as any other unit I've tried: typing in my street name, for example, it came up automatically as soon as I'd entered the first two letters. It also has an option to warn you if you are speeding, assuming the speed limit data is programmed for the map... You can even set the percentage over the limit you want before it warns you. I haven't tested this feature yet, but it sounds like a neat trick. It comes with full Canadian and US maps, including Hawaii and Porto Rico, a car charger (it also has an built-in battery), computer USB cable (something missing in some more expensive units!), dash mount, and windshield mount. It also includes a stylus, which is unnecessary but a nice touch nonetheless. All in all, I think at $99 it's a steal of a deal. I found one other GPS for less, a clearance item at Canadian Tire for $79 made by Magellen, but it didn't have US maps. If you've been considering a portable GPS but put off by the price, I think this is really worth your time to look at. The price and feature set cannot be beat, as long as you're okay with some of the fancy features like Bluetooth found on more expensive models. I could not tell you if this product was any good because DCA online mall never delivered it. Dispite the e-mail I sent them a week ago, they have not replied. The NVX200 is wonderful for the price. It's small enough to fit in convenient places without taking up too much space, the level of detail in the map is flexible...2D or 3D. The best attribute is the ability to charge it like you do a blackberry. You don't need a special power supply. So it's easily adaptable. The voice can be changed to male or female as well. You can connect it to your PC to save data or music for playback. The device software is upgradable, uses Microsoft CE operating system. I love it! Average Rating:![]() |

Jensen Nav102 GPS Navigation System Add-On for JENVM9413ReviewsThis unit was very easy to install and finds the satellites quicker than my year old Magellan. Its very easy to use and look awesome. Maps seem pretty current and same with POI. Great Nav. system work as advertise, will recommend it if you own a jensen sound system. When I decided to get this unit, there was only 1 review that I could find for it. Even with the bad review, I decided to give it a shot. I installed it on a VM9022HD unit. Install was very simple.. the hardest part was looking for a location to conceal the unit. No need for power since all is coming via the "bus" cable from the head unit. Prior to closing up the unit in its location, I decided to test to see if it actually works. If you follow what the instructions say, it may take up to 5 min to work the first time. The unit has its GPS location in less than 30 seconds. The nav software is up to date according to the Horizon Nav website. The maps have all the newer streets that my 2 year old garmin unit does not. I have tried the navigation sofware, and seem pretty good. In some aspects better than my nuvi 680. The only reason that I do not give it 5 stars is that unlike my nuvi, you can not get live traffic. POI seem pretty current as well. Previous reviewer might have just a bad unit. Jensen NVX-225 3.5-Inch Portable GPS NavigatorReviewsJensen's portable GPS device is nice, although usage as a pedestrian during inclement weather is not entirely reliable as the satellite signal tends to disappear. Affordable GPS though being discontinued by the manfacture I recommend the product. I found it easy to use and well made It was my first GPS device and simply love it. Unlike many more expensive models, that take a lot of time to learn to use, this could not be easier to learn to use. Garmin and other companies could learn something when it comes to ease of use from this device. could not be any easier to use. Only drawback is the data is a little dated, so new and rerouted roads do not show up. Also wish it had a remote, but for the price, you can't beat it. I travel all the time and my Jensen travels with me. Even locally because it makes it easy to find places to eat or stores at the end of my hand. For the price, I can beat this product. Jensen NAV 101 - Navigation systemReviewsI am very pleased with this product there is nothing I cab say bad about it! This unit is great. Came with 2006 maps. I called Audivox and they sold me an update cheap. The unit was discounted for a reason, it had older maps. If you are a suer and do not research this before hand, that is your fualt.. nothingis free... Wish other buyer would think about that. I also learned this unit is supporting 10 differant regions around the world. For the newest maps and free software see [...] look at Shop for maps and Downloads for free software update for thos with Navmate installed... Jensen is not out of the nav bussiness, that is bad is just a lie.. I called Jensen for support, poor support, mapping for USA and Canada only, poor Quality, this is my second in dash Jensen, will never buy Jensen again. You lost a customer. I've been using the Jensen Nav101 for a couple of months with a VM9512HD system. I like the navigation user interface but feel the route selection is not that great. One thing that bugs me is that if you want to do navigation without sound so you can listen to the radio without being interrupted constantly - there's no way to do that. Even if you mute the navigation sound, the nav101 will still barge into your music and play nothing. I'm also not too happy about that fact that map updates dont seem to be available so after a couple of years it might be too outdated to be useful. Although the maps are slightly outdated, and it sometimes has a delay, it is very convenient for me because it runs right through my Jensen VM-9412. Average Rating:![]() |

iPod Interface CableReviewsCable works as expected (plugs into the Jensen interface box). NOTE: this cable will not charge the latest iPod (I use the Nano 4'th and 5'th generation). It does charge Nano 3'rd generation. To charge latest Nano you need yet another adapter (something like Scosche passPORT Charging or equivalent). In the latest Apple iPods, the charging changed from 12 to 5 V Average Rating:![]() |

A Software-Defined GPS and Galileo Receiver: A Single-Frequency Approach (Applied and Numerical Harmonic Analysis)ReviewsA well written book. Excessively concise. Too much material on the RF Front-end, when the main expectable focus would be the base-band. The book does, however, serve its purpose well. The table of contents of this book are reported below. 1. Signals and Systems 2. GPS Signal 3. Galileo Signal 4. GNSS Antennas and Front-Ends 5. GNSS Receiver Operation Overview 6. Acquisition 7. Carrier and Code Tracking 8. Data Processing and Positioning 9. Matlab Code 10. GNSS Signal Simulation After a brief introduction on the basic elements of signal processing theory, this book gives an overview of GPS and Galileo signals. Then, the architectural design of a GNSS receiver is provided showing the hardware design (a front-end connect to a standard PC by USB) and focusing on the software approach and typical algorithms that are implemented to recover synchronisms. The last two chapters contain a set of Matlab algorithms to track and process GPS and Galileo L1 data. The final result is a simple and useful tool for beginners and a good reference for expert reader. Average Rating:![]() |
