Specialist Lt (Black) _ Flashlight/Tools and Camera/GPS Shoulder Holster Specialist Lt (Black) _ Flashlight/Tools and Camera/GPS Shoulder Holster

ok i like the way to change it on is diferent positions shoulder to holster to chest and carry everything the i use on my regular day cell flashlite mp3 etc. and fit any necesity the i have

These bags are pretty pricey and promise a lot. The various configurations available seem to offer a lot of flexibility, and to some extent they do. I purchased hoping to use for a business-acceptable e-kit kind of application: cell phone, blackberry, multitool, flashlight, ipod, pry bar, maybe a small first aid kit and various small items. Didn't want to look like the guy on their web site gallery, who has that survivalist look. Doesn't go over well with the VPs at my company. I purchased the Covert Tech LT that comes with the Utility and Instrument modules (aka bags to the rest of us), and also bought the Business module direct from Civilian Lab. The Specialist model comes with Business and Utility I believe, although some of the photos may be misleading. Pros: Black color is decent looking for office use (though there are a couple of bright orange pieces that are annoying and spoil the otherwise subdued look for business use). Bags have a variety of loops, straps, attachment methods available. Nice selection of compartments, strong velcro Easy access, double zippers Good padding for size Business module will fit a blackberry and other phone side by side on outside, for quick access (good if you have a personal and business phone, or palm or whatever) Cons: Very expensive! Bright pieces on black models (as above) None of the bags have enough depth to fit a wallet or a decent mini-first aid pouch, at least not if you also have any tools or whatever on them. Would have preferred if at least some of them (eg business module) would expand more. Zipped up they're thin - which is good, but limits what you can use them for. Straps have no padding at all and lots of dangling ends One of the straps and all the modules have annoying rubber logo patches and silver snaps that detract from any discreet business use If you buy a module separately, you don't get any strap As far as I can tell, the only one of the modules you can get separately is the Business Module, despite what their web site implies The bags do not come with any instructions. Some of the configurations are obvious, but not all of them. For the price, you'd think they'd take the time to explain how they set up for each configuration, and provide suggestions for all the other straps and attachment methods they provide. Flexibility is nice, but a little help wouldn't hurt. The web site says all models can be configured in 6 ways, one of which is as a belt pack. In fact, not all the bags have the belt loops. The utility module is the best - it has both a fixed loop and one that can be opened with a snap, for easy on/off. The instrument module has a fixed loop only - so you need to take off your belt to put on or remove this one (annoying since it's intended for a camera). The business module has no belt loop at all, so that configuration is not available unless you rig it up with some of the straps in some awkward way. Seems contrary to business use - I don't want to walk around the office with this thing strapped across my chest. All in all, I'm probably going to return these. They're good, but for the price, they should be just about perfect, and they're not. I also think it would be great if there were a way to easily (and neatly) attach two modules to each other, side by side, for a configuration that carries a lot without looking like you're a Mexican bandito from a John Houston film. At $25/bag with strap, the Business and Utility modules might be worthwhile, but they cost quite a bit more. The instrument module offers much less and should cost much less - you could get a lowepro bag that offers as much or more for much less. I didn't try the boarding module but it looks kind of pointless - there are hundreds of other similar options out there. It's basically a wallet with loops. Also - their customer support is slow at best. I sent a few emails and left a voice mail. After several days, I got a response to only one. Bottom line: Close, but no cigar

This device, in fact every item i have bought made by Eagle Tree, is excellent. This GPS unit works incredibly well. It acquires a lock very fast, is reliable despite severe vibration and, using the Eagle Tree data logging software, creates extremely clear and useful charts. I have used this in model helicopters and airplanes to show every available criteria for testing new power systems. It has worked flawlessly every time. Then when the speedometer in my motorcycle failed i put the eagletree sensor in my backpack and mounted the wireless display on the dashboard beside the tachometer. As a result i could see gps speed. Then when I repaired the speedo I used the GPS readout to check its accuracy. Brilliant product.

Garmin nüvi 255W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator Garmin nüvi 255W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator

The Garmin Nuvi 255w is just what I needed. I moved to a new area and had many frustrating wrong turns until I got the Nuvi. The size is nice (not too small, not too big) and is very easy to use. I recommend it for anyone! The price was right too- just $100.

Received this Garmin to replace my 2008 Garmin Nuvi 350. I've come to the conclusion that this unit is sub par on multiple levels. First, and most noticeable is the difference in satellite reception. My unit took approximately 15 minutes to obtain a weak signal on a clear day. This was repeated over the course of a week. Driving through a small tunnel would cause the signal to be completely lost, while the Nuvi 350 would at least attempt to continue your route. Compared to the Nuvi 350, I find the user interface and software to be very slow. Touch screen response takes a bit for it to register on the unit. This creates a dangerous scenario while driving (I know..) and continuously had me correcting errors. Perhaps I received a defective unit, but this one is already on its way back to Amazon.

I love this Garmin. I bought one for my boyfriend and had to buy one for myself. Refurbished it may be, but I haven't had one issue with it and I think it's a great product.

We took it on vacation with us and we NEVER got lost. Easy to figure out how to use and it can find anything! Love it!!

I like everything about this Garmin except that the voice sounds bossy and hurried. Our previous Garmin's voice was much nicer. Maybe she is hurried because she is giving street names and so has to talk faster?

Garmin nüvi 265W/265WT 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic Garmin nüvi 265W/265WT 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic

Reviews

Bought this Garmin a month ago mainly on the good reviews it had received and the reasonable price. Took it on a trip to the Bay area, CA. Overall, it performed well. The initial satellite acquisition in a new area takes longer than normal but that's to be expected. Subsequent acquisitions were fast. As far as the routes, except for one hiccup where it kept trying to exit on a non-existent exit on the highway, it performed OK. I noticed though occasionally it went "crazy" going around loops and so forth. Best to re-start the route calculations in those situations. The maps are fairly up to date. The traffic worked OK in one situation but for the most part, it's not the feature I would base my purchase on. For people who rely on reviews, having read dozens of them on various GPS devices, you will not find one with a perfect score. There's no such thing as a perfect GPS at any price with the current state of technology. Even with the "best" one purchased, one should not blindly follow the instructions. Commonsense should be exercised as to where the GPS is sending you. For the money, Garmin 265WT is an adequate unit.

Best Gps,nice widescreen so that u can view the street details, never looses signal, calls street by name, accurate, good features to find shopping ,gas, food etc nearby.dont forget to install the free update u get with this gps it expires after a month or so.

Overall I think this is great for the tech challenged, however I really would have liked a REAL manual to be included. I had to ask my friend to find it on-line. Since there isn't a manual provided I'm not really sure all that the device can do...but for getting places it's pretty straight forward. For the price I'm satisfied with what I got.

What a great upgrade from my old Garmin 330, this thing is awesome, handsfree phone use with the bluetooth, and the directions to new places is priceless

Not pleased with this GPS at all. I had the Garmin Nuvi 205 before and it worked quite well. Upgraded to The Garmin Nüvi 265W/265WT which speaks the street names. It is very slow responding with directions, does not know which direction you traveling many times, does not know which lane you are in sometimes so tells you to turn the wrong way. I DO NOT recommend this unit at all. I will call Garmin about but plan on returning this and going back to the Nuvi 205.

This product works pretty good. The driving directions are clear and fairly accurate. The directions of use and how to use the features are poor. I like the display showing time of arrival and speed limits, speed signs are a little sparse in this area, but cops and their tickets are not. I have noticed a lag in responce time. Several times it will tell me I have 500 ft before the turn when in reality I'm right at the turn. It seems to be a few seconds behind me, with my driving style a few seconds behind can be too late. If you drive more reasonably there should be no problem. I am a little disappointed with the lack of additional voices and images that are available for Garmin users looks like the others have snatched up most of the voice-overs. One thing I wish Garmin would do is let you edit the maps. I drive out to Reservations where the maps do not cover, I would like to program in the roads so I can find my way out or back in again. I know another GPS provider allows you to edit.

As a first time GPS user, I was looking for a GPS that would give me the basics but also have some amenities to it as well and this GPS has done just that. I was intrigued by the traffic and the multi-point destinations specifically as it set itself apart from other similarly priced units that had what I wanted. The traffic feature, when available, is nice and has helped navigate to destinations. It has been reliable as far as how long and where a backup will be. However, I wish that the traffic feature was available in a broader area. Advertisements on GPS are very small and a non-issue. The multi-point destination, which I was looking foward to, is great to have. Having the speed limit available while driving has also been very useful. When forced to take an alternate route because of a downed tree, the GPS recalculated very quickly and put me on a differrent route. The volume and voice is loud and clear from the unit. In my opinion, this GPS is well worth the price listed on Amazon.

Upgraded from older Garmin GPS. The 755T works great, love the traffic information and ease of use.

I love the lane assist feature on this unit when I'm in unfamiliar areas. I have two main complaints of this unit. I wish the spoken voices were more clear. I find myself still having to look at the unit because I didn't understand what was said. This can be dangerous in high traffic conditions where you need to make split-second decisions. My second issue is that the keyboard is too small when typing addresses. I'm sure this is just a matter of time before I adjust but it's definitely been a source of frustration for my wife who has much smaller hands and shouldn't have the same problems I have!

This is a great unit for the money. A happy upgrade over a magellan unit that was now dated and for about the price of new maps for that one I get a ton more features. The traffic reciever is great add-on! About the only thing that drives me nuts is that it does not power off after a while of the vehicle not moving. My GMC does not turn of the power source so the unit just stays on until you manually shut it off. Annoying to say the least. A simple software update would solve that.

DeLorme Earthmate GPS LT-40 2010 DeLorme Earthmate GPS LT-40 2010

Reviews

Having used Delorme since 2005, I've used almost every iteration of this software. the SA2010 software is nice, and works surprisingly well with the LT-40. While it seems to struggle at times, even in clear skies, it does gain a 3D lock fairly reliably. I use these products as a Cable Installer, and am soon relocating to a new area, and I am confident this package will take me where I need to go. A lot of people think that the Tom Tom's and Garmins are great devices. And in their own right, they are. I have always felt i've given up features for size in any one of them. The ability to zoom out clearly and see my overall routing to multiple locations allows me to use my time much more efficiently. A+

The DeLorme Earthmate GPS LT-40 2010 is amazing. Although the Street Atlas USA 2010 is the latest edition, it apparently depends on census data to add new streets and street numbers. Missing streets and house numbers are frustrating. The software is fairly self-explanatory, but a novice might find difficulty understanding the instructions.

The physical product is a yellow lump of microelectronics with a USB interface, with a NMEA interface that works best with the DeLorme supplied virtual Serial port. The software is a well written but rather complex street mapping program with data for North America. The software stores the maps on the local hard disk, using a large chunk of disk, so an internet connection is not needed to use it. I strongly recommend against using this product in a car, the software interface is too complex to use while driving, you will navigate into a wreck. I purchased this to do a mapping project, not navigation. I am a hacker, and really just want lat and long data, mostly to use with google earth. The lump provides usable NMEA data, and usually locks in between 40 sec and 3 minutes. The antenna and rf parts are good enough to receive signal inside my house and offices. However, I live in a radio quiet area, it may perform differently in an area with more radio noise. I bought this item from Amazon Marketplace from a vendor named Infinite Surplus. The price was very good, but the package did not include a license key to install the software. Infinite Surplus did not respond to requests, but DeLorme tech support immediately and cheerfully responded with a key. Don't buy anything from Infinite Surplus, but DeLorme is a good vendor. If you can't stand windows, the NMEA data will stream to a virtual tty on linux, but I have been unable use it with any easily found linux navigation programs. This is the fault of the linux programs, not the lump.

I upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 64bit and the GPS is not recognized when I plug it into the USB port. After not finding a Windows 7 driver on the Delorme site, I emailed them asking about the availability of a Windows 7 driver, and got the following response: "As of right now there is no release date. Unless there is a change in schedule, one will not be available in the future for Windows 7." It appears that Delorme is not a good choice if you ever plan to upgrade your OS. Obviously I can't comment on how well the unit works.

With Delorme's Street Atlas USA 2010 the LT40 turns your laptop or netbook into a full on gps navigator. It is fun to watch as you drive along, almost like looking down on yourself from a plane. Helps you discover things hidden from your ground view but visible on the map, like lakes hidden in the trees. pros: If you're lost, it can help you get back on track. cons: It sometimes gets lost, mostly because the map database is wrong or out of date, maybe sometimes because the LT40 is inaccurate or loses the satellites. The LT-40 isn't as friendly with non-Delorme software as GlobalSat BU-353. bottomline: Tremendous value. The Lt-40 Street Atlas USA 2010 combo is less expensive than a stand alone gps and combined with a laptop provides a much larger display. Even though it has USA in name, it works in Canada. I used the earlier Street Atlas USA 2009 when driving across Canada. I did 11,000 miles in 35 days. The Delorme made the trip more fun and more efficient. I had the whole trip set up as one route, next time I'll divide it into multiple routes.

Earthmate GPS BT-20 2010 Earthmate GPS BT-20 2010

Reviews

I've had it with DeLorme. I'll continue buying the occasional update to their topographic maps because they are the only reasonably priced solution out there and my needs are not critical. But their Street Atlas has an antiquated, clumsy, difficult to use interface; the navigational and points of interest data is often erroneous or out of date. And the BT-20 Bluetooth GPS supplied in this package is absolutely useless. It is sitting right now, connected via Bluetooth to my computer, with a clear view of the southern, eastern and western sky. After more than an hour, the utterly worthless DeLorme BT-20 finally recognized 2 satellites. I put my smartphone right next to it, turned on GPS and within a minute locked on to 10 of 11 satellites. A several years old unit that came with Microsoft Streets & Trips had no problems either. Maybe, some day, I will update my Topo maps and if DeLorme is still the only player in the low priced space, I might buy an upgrade. Otherwise I don' plan on ever buying a DeLorme product again and strongly recommend that you don't either. DeLorme products simply aren't worth the money. Jerry

After using the BT-20 on a train trip to Florida I have changed my opinion of it. It did a poor job of maintaining a lock on the satellites when large trees were close to the track. During the same trip I used a QSTARZ BT-Q1000X that never lost the satellite lock for the entire trip. I won't be using the BT-20 anymore. The QSTARZ BT-Q1000X is compatible with Street Atlas on my Samsung Netbook (Windows XP, SP3). See my review of the QSTARZ.

I purchased the product specifically for the bundled Palm OS support. Pairing the BT-40 to a Palm Centro is spotty at best. Add to that the lost pairing during an incoming call, and the product is virtually worthless for mobile Palm use. I haven't spent much time with the PC-based software. I'm sure (or I hope) it's much better.

The reception with this GPS was extremely poor. I tested it in an area where I get great reception with my TomTom and the reception kept fading out. I would recommend spending a little more on a TomTom GPS. I have tried Garmin GPS's also and found the TomTom far superior. I returned this item to DeLorme.
