I purchased this product, and even paid the one day delivery charge> Amazon did a wonderful job of customer service and I received the unit on time. However a couple of weeks later the unit malfunctioned. I contacted Magellan and sent it back to them right away per their instructions. I then received an Email from them on May 5th 2010.stating that they received the unit. I was told I would have a new unit sent to me within ten days max. It it now July 17th, I have called them numerous times and each time they tell me they will send the unit that day. I have received nothing yet. Are these people dishonest? I'm frankly tired of being lied to. they need to live up to their word and send me my replacement unit.

I bought this Magellan unit for my husband for Father's Day. He's the type who never asks for directions, so this was a godsend! We recently went on an all day trip through several states, and never had a wrong turn with our Magellan. Even if you deviate from the given map, it "finds" you and re-calibrates to your new route. I would recommend playing around with the features before actually using it, to become familiar with everything offered, because there are many things we didn't know about until we were on the road. A great deal and one I would recommend.

Bought this one for my son-in-law. He had borrowed mine (bought from Amazon several years ago) and had to have one of his own. Great value, and works great!

I bought this GPS 2 years ago. It is the first GPS I have ever owned so far. So there is no comparison with other GPS products. The power USB connector broke just after the warrenty period expired. When I opened the unit, I found that the USB connector was linked with the PCB with 10 tiny pins, plus 4 soldered supports. This is not enough for a connector that is often plugged and unplugged. Plus, it is extremely difficulty to repair since those pins are too thin to solder. I asked a professional solderer to repair it and it worked for another month before broke again.

I bought this gps unit in Costco. It has very low battery life. In a full charge I can only search for directions once. Second time battery runs out. I replaced unit two times, with same battery problem. Looks like bad design. Maps are outdated, I have to check with map since many times direct me to wrong place. Not a good recommendation.

This unit's not bad, it's just not great. The directions are so-so, frequently taking me through some weird backroads. The windshield mount is quite honestly terrible. It had two pivot joints (think two elbows) that move it and it sticks out far from the windshield. Because of that, the suction cup often was pulled from the window due to the weight being so far away. It was annoying. Garmin's short ball joint mount is much better. Updating is a pain. Magellan's website is difficult to navigate, and the maps were frequently not updated. It still said there were roads in my neighbourhood that hadn't existed for probably 6 years. The power button is finicky. It requires a long hold to turn on or off, and would frequently turn on in the middle of the night in my dark car, proclaiming to everyone on the block that I had a GPS unit. A sliding switch would have been a better choice. Lack of voice choices is annoying, and its metre and cadence of the voice was poor, which was especially bad for highways. An example being "Business I-85 south/I-40 west/US 29 south/Winston-Salem/Charlotte" would be pronounced as if it were one long word "BusinessInterstateEightyFIVEsouthInterstateForTYwestUSTwENTYnineSouthWINstonSalemCharlotte" with a slightly robotic sound, highlighted by odd stresses (in all-caps), which was difficult to understand. There are some good things: The screen was very responsive and was very easy to enter destinations. Offers data like elevation, compass, and current location (lat/lon and city/state/zip (postal code)), which is nice for data geeks. But as it goes sometimes with products, I bought one, wasn't completely satisfied, then sold it and bought a different, better one. I got a Garmin in November.

First unit sent did not work. Seller made good on replacement and paid shipping. Second unit worked fine.

Extremely reliable and easy to use GPS. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but my mom (the most technologically impaired person i know) loves it and uses this thing every chance she gets. The menu is easy to navigate and understand, text prediction allows for lots of time saved from typing, and there have only been a few instances where addresses were not located on the factory pre-installed maps. Great entry level GPS at an affordable price.

I found this product easy to use. The spoken instructions are clear, display is good as well. Few shortcomings that I found are : 1) When you miss the street, it does not say 're-calculating'. It automatically computes the new route ..so you don't come to know instantly if you missed it or not. 2) It sometimes gives wrong directions escpecially in the city / downtown area. It tells you to take left turn when there is no road on the left side. However, this product is good when using freeways/ highways. Apart from the above 2 issues, I found this product to be good.

I took it out of the box and it never worked. The seller handled everything exceptionally well.
